The Veronicas @ MCM
Taken earlier this week, this was the first live show photographed on my new Nikon D3, and it truly went a breeze. Most of these shots were taken at 3200 iso, an unimaginable range on my old d200 (I would never go about 800 iso, in an emergency).
The D3 has opened up a whole door of choices now, often while shooting now, where I once would have been pulling the flash out, I simply find a nice source of natural light, up the ISO and bang, there you have it. Shooting gigs, conferences, portraits, the whole spectrum of jobs, has become so much easier.
I feel as though now that I can get shots at a much faster rate, I have time to search for more obscure or obtuse images. I really think that this revolution for Nikon will shape the way we shoot.

This drummer was 100% pure 80s rock. Mesmerizing to watch, could have been an extra in Wayne's World

Like I said on Flickr, that camera is beautiful the quality is astounding. I just pray Canon pull the fingers out and get the ISO right in the next gen series of 5D/1D's
I am just in awe of the capabilities of this camera and what it is allowing great photographers to do now.
Awesome shots!
Damn that D3 is the bomb - definitely got it over Dan now Cyb!
Ditto on kyza's comments - I'm pretty certain the delay on the 5D update/upgrade is because they've gone and had an "OH SHIT!" moment ;)
Cyb, great to see some live work again from you - put me to shame as always (and a pleasure to see it!)
I shot at 3200 for 3 bands just friday night on a canon 40d, and the D3 puts it to shame.
Whilst you'd expect that at the price points, Canon really don't seem to have an answer at the moment.
Very jealous.
wow cybele, you've convinced me re: the Nikon D3! awesome shots px
Can't believe some of the images I've seen this cam produce....again here
I wish I could push the 40D to 1600 and get even a percentage of this quality....even though I won't be able to afford it, as said above, I hope the 5DMKII starts to bring the comparisons a little closer, at the moment this blows everything out of the picture!

it is an incredible camera. i can shoot at 3200 in confidence. but... it must be accurately exposed at this high iso. the image quality is a problem if if you need to push or pull it.
scared about the 5dmark ii. practically twice the megapix, half the price
Do you think you will change (back) to Canon should the MKII perform well?
